Secrets to touch typing
Touch typing is a skill that eludes many people even those are considered computer literate. It is simple yet important technique that you may need for your daily usage, it may be your research, coursework with many pages yet the lecturer or tutor wants it the next morning and even sending those nice long inspirational messages all this need you to have top typing skills. Touch typing is typing without typing without using the sense of sight to find the keys, a typist will know the location of a word on the keyboard using what we call "Muscle strength". The following are clues on how you can type and reach 45 WPM (Words Per Minute) or more;
- In case your a beginner you can browse the internet and download touch typing software like Rapidtyping, which can help you learn.
- Sit upright when typing, this improves your muscle concentration and helps you make less mistakes
- Focus on accuracy first and then your speed will increase
- Take a break of about 2 minutes after every 20 to 30 minutes of typing
- Don't be tempted to look at the keyboard.
- Always sure you place your fingers right that is at default f and j keys for most people
there was a time i was actually trying to achieve this skill using some app (I forgot its name)on google chrome. I gave up later and havent tried since cos of using firefox as my main browser.
i know it takes time but try to first focus on accuracy not speed also practice regularly, i started like 2 years back but am on track to reaching 45WPM
