“Technology is a useful servant but a dangerous master.” - Christian Lous Lange, Historian

Mr. Lange died in 1938, but he aptly recognized the dangers of technology and expressed it in this quote. As long as technology is under our control, it is a boon, but if it goes beyond our control, it can prove disastrous.

Frankly speaking, I don't think that technology can become our master unless we allow it to do so. It is only possible with AI, but I don't think humans would allow AI to take full control of their lives. They would always have something at their disposal to control it.
