Step-by-Step Guide to Using Telegram for the First Time

• Regardless of what version of Telegram you opt to use, you must sign up using a mobile app. Download the app from the iOS Store, Google Play, or the Microsoft Store and set up your account accordingly. The service requires a valid telephone number, your first and last name, and a photo.
• You can now log in to your platform of choice. We will be using the web version for the rest of this tutorial.
• Enter the telephone number you used when you signed up.
  

• Input the verification number the service texted to you. You are now ready to chat.
  

• Set up your username under "Settings." Usernames must have at least five characters and can include letters, numbers, and underscores. Usernames are not case-sensitive. You can also set up a passcode or two-step authentication.
