RE: The Last Forest - Tell A Story To Me

in #tellastorytome5 years ago

This is so beautiful <3 the last forest reclaiming the earth, pushed to the edge of extinction. The unanchored perspective taking form as the hope of the forest, the structure - both in the progression of the verses, and the staccato of the lines, adds so much impact, providing space for reflection and emotional projection.

The first verse, the forest pushed too far, slowly dying and with such simply acceptance and finality. But then the second verse, a faith that life will continue, a hope that feel both as flimsy and determined as tiny roots. The way this develops in the third verse, seeds have taken root and reclaim what has been left barren. Then into the final verse, the passage of time, the continuation of life being all that remains. You tell a beautiful story of the last forest, and I love the reason why it is the last, and yet this equally feels like it could be a metaphor, for personally loss/grief and the desolation felt, that at first is only broken by the tiny roots of possibility, that things could feel better again, into the sudden burst of life and a regaining of the self, to not just recovery and continuation, but also something better, Just beautiful <3
