Cyber warfare is the premeditated use of disruptive activities, or the danger thereof, in cyberspace, with the intent to additional social, ideological, religious, political or comparable objectives, or to intimidate any person in support of such goals.
Computers and therefore the net became a significant a part of our standard of living.
They're being used by societies and individuals to make their life simpler. They use them for saving information, processing information, sending and receiving messages, communications, controlling machines, typing, editing, designing, drawing, and virtually all facets of life. The most deadly and damaging effect of the helplessness is the development of the concept of cyber terrorism.
The standard concepts and methods of warfare have taken new dimensions, which are more damaging and deadly in nature. The injury so generated will be nearly irreversible and most catastrophic in nature. The expression cyber terrorism comprises an undesirable unwanted and harmful use of the info technologies for generating destructive and harmful effects to your property, whether tangible or intangible, others. For instance, hacking of a pc system and after that deleting the valuable and useful small business information of the rival competitor is part and parcel of cyber terrorism.
The definition of cyber terrorism can't be made exhaustive since the nature of crime is that it has to be left to be inclusive in character. The character of cyberspace is such that new techniques and technology are invented on a regular basis, hence it isn't advisable to put the definition in a straitjacket formula or pigeons hole. The word cyber warfare refers to two elements: cyberspace and warfare. Another word for cyberspace is That the virtual world i, e a place wherein computer programs function and data moves. Terrorism is a much used term, with lots of definitions. For the purposes of the presentation, we'll use the US State Department definition: The term warfare means premeditated, politically motivated violence perpetrated against non-combatant targets by sub national groups or clandestine agents.
If we combine these definitions, we construct a working definition like the following: Cyber warfare is the premeditated, politically motivated attack against info, computer systems, computer programs, and information which
result in violence against noncombatant targets by sub national teams or hugger-mugger agents.
The basic definition of Cyber warfare subsumed with time to encompass such things as simply defacing a website or server, or attacking non critical systems, leading to the term becoming less useful. There's also a train of thought which says cyber warfare doesn't exist and is really a matter for hacking or info warfare. Some argue with labeling it terrorism proper due to the unlikelihood of the creation of fear of significant physical damage or death in .
