For many people where they live is home but if you are a Texan it's a little different. For Texans, their home state is more like a religion. We are fanatics about our state to the point it really gets on some people's nerves.

We have a rich and long history that not many other states have. To that point in middle school (7-8th grades) we are taught not just world history or American History we are taught 2 years of Texas History. Are we brain washed? Maybe. Do we care? Nope. We are proud of our state.

Unless you are a Texan or you are married to a Texan you probably don't understand why Texans are so passionate about Texas. I think it has to do with the fact that we use to be our own country apart from they United States.

I perhaps ought to say that individually I never was much interested in the Texas question. I never could see much good to come of annexation, inasmuch as they were already a free republican people on our own model. -Abraham Lincoln

With the controversial state of the federal government there are many people who would lke to see this again, Texas the individual free state. Whether that is right or wrong is not the point of this article.

What other state is as brandable as Texas? Answer is none at all. We wear our flag everywhere and we tattoo the shape of the state on our bodies. Texans are crazy for our state.
