Mrs Anwar teacher girls do you know any thing about the big blue roof above us we call the sky Aisha student yes it is the sky where we can see the sun in the morning the moon and the countless stars at night Mrs Anwar good but let me tell you more about it the sky in fact is an empty space all around our earth it causes clouds rain and cool winds some times it brings hail and snow stroms and some times dusty and very hot winds aisha how far is the sky from us Miss Mrs anwar it is very far from us it is not possible to mesoure its distance from the earth it is so for that its nearest neighbour the moon is 240000 miles away the sun is surrounded by millions of stars plabets and galaxies Aisha what are stars planets and galaxies Miss Mrs anwar the stars are a burning matter of guases and have their on light like fire balls the sun is also a star a planet is huge solid mass some planets are very hot and some are very cold all of these are moving round the sun these are Mercury venus jupiter saturn uranus neptune and pluto oir earth is also a planet the stars are fixed they do not move but the planets move round there axis and also round the sun aisha it is very interesting andeed does the moon also move and if so with what result mrs.anwar yes the moon too revolves it complets its circle around the earth in about 29 30 days our islamic calindar is based on the movement of the moon the study of the stars is astoronomy the muslims astromers like ibn ul haithem bu ali sina and other discoverd many new groups of stars and gave them names in arbic we can still find these names beings used Aisha what are the uses of sending these satellites into space ?
