While I was out in the Satara Camp of the Kruger National park - I came across these two lovely Rhinos, I managed to capture some shots before allowing myself to drift away in thought.

I sat thinking for a bit about the conservation of these majestic animals, and then started thinking about the conservation of humanity. And yes I know, humans are certainly not an endangered species, however I sometimes think that humanity itself might be at risk.

Despite the selective few, for the greater part a great deal of humans have let go of a great deal of their morals, values and kindness in order to adapt to an ever changing world, and I think that it is up to every individual to conserve a good heart in trying times like these.

Surely humitanity will go under to its own demise in the end, I truly believe that.

But apart from that, you caught these rhinos beautifully on picture!

The really are a spectacular sight, and thank you, however I fear that my camera skills do not serve them justice LOL

Hi.
There are many animal species that, as few are known, are also in danger of extinction, such as the pink freshwater dolphin found in the Amazon. Of course, the rhinoceros is hunted because your horn is said to have aphrodisiac properties, something that has not been proven exactly, but still they are hunting and killing.

So very true, humanities greed sure does take it's toll...

So lovely creatures
When will be ever learn there is no undo for extinction? Breaks my heart

Oh mine too!

I think it's a bit extreme to see humans as a cancer on the Earth, but the people who believe so are yet to be proven wrong. We've caused so much destruction

Well the decision to alter that state of destruction is embedded within each and every one of us. The decision is yours...

It's nice to see the rhinos roaming free! I'm not use to seeing them able to roam where ever and just enjoy themselves freely. I've only seen them at a zoo. Someday it would be awesome to travel out of our state to see them. Til then thanks for sharing these.

Sadly - they are on the verge of extinction, and this is a really rare sighting in the wild these days.... :(

:( oh no. my heart is sad!
I'm glad you were able to capture these though!

Yes, me too, it is extremely sad!
