A Big Environmental Problem / A Controversial Proposal

This city is turning me into some kind of eco-activist or something.

The litter situation in London is getting out of control. The parks, the streets, everywhere you look, there's litter. So many people appear to no longer care about the environment, hygiene or just general self discipline.

What can be done about this litter issue? Should we adopt the Singapore model where the hand of the law is firm against litter? Should the government be asked to launch a massive educational campaign about litter?

Perhaps London is now overpopulated. Maybe there are too many people living here now.

Please comment below, what do you think can be done about it? What do you think about my suggestion about fining companies for litter? I know it is not totally their fault, but they are partly to blame for the excessive use of plastic in packaging their products are they not?

It's already illegal to drop litter in London by the way, but I can't think of anyone that's ever been fined or prosecuted for casual littering. It's pretty much impossible to police.

With fines of up to £2,500 you would think councils would hire some staff to enforce the law.

Could be a big money spinner much like parking fees.

Free marketers should jump all over this. 😋

Exactly :)
Camden council should be leading this charge.

hi Ade, how are you? can you help me with @ocdb i cant send bid to it, it said "Only posts by whitelisted authors are accepted by this bot." about your story: i was very surprised when came to London, people smoke at pedestrian areas and spit on pedestrian areas, and a lot of garbage was around parks and streets, i expected that in London more cultured people, why they doing it, what they thinking before doing it, its a big question, London the same as some Ukrainian cities, i like the idea in Germany, they encourage people for proper utilization of plastic bottles

Hi bro. I'm fine thank you. Hope you're doing well too.
Concerning OCDB, you have to be on a list of creators for them to take your bid. Im not on their list either even though I delegate to the project. You have to get someone who is on the whitelist to nominate you.

About London; historically, it has always been a very dirty city. Like Paris. Back in the day, people would throw their urine out of the window unto the streets. But this was a long time ago before modernisation. I think London was a little cleaner about 20-10 years ago, but then it's just got really bad again in the past 5 years or so.

I'm not sure what the reason is. It's not really a particular age group or type of person. I see EVERYONE doing it. It's pretty sad.

Thanks for answer bro, im doing well, i in ukrainian village right now, do you have telegram? My id in telegram the same as in steemit @wizzdom, i think about that goverment can hire special people which will be watch for cleanliness and writing fines for violators even if they will work during the daylight it will be more clean, but why goverment dont do it, maybe for them its not big problem? it's very frustrating for me

It's a really huge problem, and many people are not yet aware of it or just don't care.

I also wrote several articles about this increasing problem, for example here.

By the way, it seems @threespeak has created one of the most promising projects on STEEM (supported by @theycallmedan and @oracle-d).

Great video post!, litters are engulfing our environment, and need to control!

Thank you. We all have to take personal responsibility for it.
