Finally, I had a chance to test my new drone! This video was filmed using my new DJI Mavic Air drone...
IS DJI MAVIC AIR GOOD FOR BEGINNERS?
The Mavic Air is a wonderful drone to pilot, but it's more than just an easy-to-fly drone for beginners. It's also an excellent aerial camera. The Mavic Air is equipped with a 12MP, 4K camera that can shoot both JPG photos and DNG RAW!
IS DJI MAVIC AIR EASY TO FLY?
The Mavic Air also features SmartCapture, a series of gesture controls that let you take selfies, record videos, and fly the drone with nothing more than your hands. DJI says that the Air has a flight time of 21 minutes per battery, but in practice, I felt like I got more like 15 to 18 minutes.
IS IT REALLY THAT GOOD?
The Mavic Air is a compelling offering, positioned between the consumer and professional-grade drones that DJI currently offers. When used correctly, it can produce content difficult to distinguish from its professional-grade cousins. If you're looking for a drone that delivers features close to the Phantom 4 Pro or Mavic 2 series while keeping size and cost factors in check, the Mavic Air might be the perfect aerial companion for you.

We've got the Mavic Air too, and I love it! I will say though that flying the drone ended up being more a passing fancy for us— we didn't even bring it along with us on our last trip because we thought it'd be a hassle what with three kids and trying to minimize our carry-ons. Totally regret that though— would have loved to capture some drone footage of Bavaro Beach in Punta Cana.
I agree, it's incredibly easy to use, and as long as you're staying in open air without any dicey obstacles during questionable light (tree branches in the autumn right around twilight, for example), it's proooobably near impossible to crash.
Sounds like I am in need of an upgrade. I have Spark atm but was thinking of updating to Mavic Pro or Air the other day. Still not quite sure which way to go.

Unfortunately, the European CE remote connection is too weak and rather unreliable. Luckily, the drone location can be spoofed to force it into FCC mode. A minor inconvenience to me.
I have been eyeing the Mavic drones, to purchase one. Just waiting on a good deal, like a bundle to show up.

We had 2 choices: Mavic Air and Mavic Pro. In the end we chose this one. Because of its pocket size it looked like a good drone for traveling. :)
