The original plot is:

“When aspiring writer Guinevere Beck strides into the East Village bookstore where Joe works, he’s instantly smitten. Beck is everything Joe has ever wanted: She’s gorgeous, tough, razor-smart, and as sexy as his wildest dreams.
Beck doesn’t know it yet, but she’s perfect for him, and soon she can’t resist her feelings for a guy who seems custom made for her. But there’s more to Joe than Beck realizes, and much more to Beck than her oh-so-perfect façade. Their mutual obsession quickly spirals into a whirlwind of deadly consequences . . .
A chilling account of unrelenting passion, Caroline Kepnes’s You is a perversely romantic thriller that’s more dangerously clever than any you’ve read before.”

I had some conflicting feelings on this books. At the beginning I was super excited about the idea of being inside the head of a serial killer, but as I kept reading even though I couldn't stop I was just waiting for something to happen.

Being inside Joe's head was a really cool and amazing experience and for me all the characters were pretty good constructed but the story was way too slow on first half.

So yes, Joe was a stalker and a killer but sometimes he convinced me of he's love for Beck, making me forget all the awful things he made and wishing he would end up with her living happily ever after.

Of course what Joe felt wasn't actually love but a sick obsession, still he was such a well-read, intelligent and charming character that I could feel sympathy for him.

Through the book we start with a loving Beck who, if you end up loving Joe as I did, we realized a little bit later that she might not be the other half of Joe.

This isn't a book for everyone, although it has a lot of good jokes it is as dark, and maybe a little bit more, as a novel of a stalker should be.
