Travel Blog: Visit to the Ancient City of Ephesus, Turkey

Ephesus is a port city of the ancient world. Civilizatiom started as early as 6,000 BC. The city was called Apasas during the Hitite period. The city where all thie ruins was built by one of Alexander the Great generals, Lysimakos around 300 BC.

What was left of once a great palace of Rome’s 14th Emperor, Hadrian.

Ancient public toilets. (no privacy)

Taken with modern day policemen.(I wasn’t arrested)

A re-enactment of daily activities in ancient Ephesus.

Ancient Amphitheater. Almost similar to the modern amphitheater except now it’s in an enclose space with cushioned seats and high-tech sound system.

Tunnels and entryways.

Massive pillars of what used to be colossal palaces.

Everything that man created, however massive or great it was will all come to ruin. And will just be a part of history.

A visit to a modern day carpet and tapestry factory.
They also served us great tasting coffee.

My ride for the next 2 weeks, Celebrity Equinox.
