First attempt at timelapse using still images - how i did it

in #timelapse6 years ago

Firstly i took still images using my apeman A66 (gopro copy)
I set the timer to take an image every 5 seconds. In total i took 1,487 images. I realise now i had the resolution set too high so i then did a batch resize in irfanview, and changed the resolution of the images to 1920 x1080 .

I then put the images into windows movie maker. Click on "add videos and photos" and navigate to your images and select all of them.

Then in the right hand panel where your timeline is, select all your images by clicking on the 1st image, then scroll to the last image and hold shift key and click on last image. Now click on edit and in the duration box put in how long you want each frame to last. i set mine at 0.06 which gives 16.6 frames per second.
you can play about with this figure to see what suits best.

I then went to https://incompetech.com/music/royalty-free/ which is a site that provides royalty free music.
i downloaded a file approx the same length as my movie and then inserted it into movie maker by clicking on "add music"

As i said, this is my first test and have learnt from this.
next time i will set the image resolution lower and remember to remove the timestamp lol (esp when its out of date)
I will also try different time settings when taking the stills.
