The Maldives, is a sovereign island country located in the Indian Ocean, the capital and, at the same time, the most populous city is Malé, with a population of 103 693 inhabitants, hold the record of being the flattest country in the world, with a maximum altitude of only 2.8 meters on Villingili Island, in the Addu Atoll. Reports indicate a dangerous rise in sea level and that is why the government is promoting a project to build homes and structures above sea level, to prevent the disappearance of the nation.
