Art, I guess
So the Krabi Biennale festival is still going on and new art installations keep popping up all over the place. It's actually pretty fun if you live here because while i am certain it is announced somewhere, i don't know where that is. One day you'll just be driving down the street and there is something that wasn't there before. Some of these are really nice and look like they will be around for years after the festival is over. Other things I look at and go "huh?"
Take this for example. I don't like that this was built. For one thing it might have looked great at one point but it (like many things in this country) isn't being maintained and it is now badly damaged. It is made entirely of tile and must weigh a tremendous amount and when a situation like that occurs in this country I can tell you exactly how it will be removed.... it wont be removed.
Now I know that mosaic tile isn't exactly plastic bags but it is just another form of littering. It was laid down on a tidal beach, people walked on it, and cracked it. It's already broken and it hasn't even been there more than a few months.
While I applaud Krabi's attempt at beautifying the area with these installations, this one was just poorly conceived and it will gradually just float away into the sea. I think it was a dumb idea.

I think they should spent this money on improving roads and pavements instead.
What's that? What's its function? I don't think it's suitable for the beach, I think it rather ugly the landscape. Gooddream, I agree with you that it will soon be garbage that will pollute the sea. It is disappointing, hopefully removed without causing damage to the marine ecosystem :( Greetings, friend.
You are right. at times, as it has happen to me, i will be going home then suddenly i discovered what is not there before whether an art work or any new thing like that.
Well, everyone makes art in their own way.
