Tchoo, Tchoo - All Aboard! (Porto, Portugal)
My hometown is starting to be a well known tourist destination. Lately, people from all over the world want to schedule holidays in Porto. I don't know what took you guys so long to understand that this is such a cool place to visit, but hey, better later than never. And while you're were, don't leave without catching a Metro to Vila do Conde. Take a day to explore that city, too. You won't regret it.
With the influx of tourists, the businesses related to that industry also flourish... and a good example of that is this train, which is touring the city, giving a chance to its passengers to enjoy the views.
This is certainly a new sight, something that would be unthinkable just a couple of years ago. And while some people complain about it, I don't mind it. It's better than seeing the same old boring vehicles, over and over again.
I guess some people are never OK with anything. If we don't have enough tourists, they complain that the city is boring and doesn't attract anyone... if we have plenty of tourists, they complain that they get tired of listening to people speaking English, Spanish and French. I guess these Portuguese are always complaining about something. 😂 ( Yep, me too. 🙃 )
What about you? Do tourists annoy you or do you like to see that someone takes an interest in visiting your hometown?

The only locals who like tourists are the ones selling them things, it's true :)
It's getting to be tourist season here, there is a historic lighthouse (Peggy's cove lighthouse) and an amazing rock formation which it is on. It's about 10 minutes away. People here complain mostly about the traffic. Oh and sometimes tourists get swept away by the waves there because they go too close to the water. They even have a hashtag on twitter #moronsofpeggyscove where they post photos of tourists who are standing on the black rocks. There are so many signs up, I'm afraid one day they will add a fence because of these stupid people.

We have tourists too. They bring money and parts of the place are renovated (pity enough just corner of the city hall and at the riverside) plus there are more shoos (hardly any restaurants).
It is not the tourists that are a problem but the foreigners who live here and make a mess that are disliked.
The train here is red with yellow, wonder if it still drives.

I just came back from Porto, beautiful city with the perfect weather (maybe in Summer too hot for me)... I couldn't go to Vila do Conde, my kid became ill. That will be the excuse to come back :-)

hehehe...we actually got one in my rather small town of Kristiansand, Norway. A litle train driving tourists around town, telling them what they it is they are seeing on the way!! Not everyone likes it though, but I think it is ok. It is part of or town now :)
