Salep Bitkisi
SALEP BİTKİSİ, salepgillerden otsu bitki cinsidir. Kökü iki yumrulu, dik gövdeli, tek çiçek kurulu çok çiçeklidir. Taç ve çanak yapraklar çana benzer bir biçim oluşturur.
Familyanın öbür üyelerinde de farklılaşan taç yaprak salepte bir kaç parçalıdır. Genellikle bataklık ve nemli yerlerde görülen salep, Türkiye de içinde Avrupa, Asya ve Kuzey Amerika'da doğal olarak yetişir.
Nişastalı yumruları yine salep adıyla kıvamlı bir içecek yapımında kullanılır (Orchis).
