Ana akım medyanın filtreli habercilik anlayışına tepki olarak özgür haberciliği savunan bağımsız karşı medya hareketi.
Yaratıcı fikirler enstitüsü tarafından organize edilen bağımsız medya hareketi. ismindeki "140", twitter'in tweet'lerdeki 140 karakter sınırını; "journos" ise "gazeteciler" sözcüğünün ingilizce karsiligini ifade etmektedir.
Tüm mevcut sosyal medya araçlarını kullanarak gerçek zamanlı web ile bu teknolojinin, haberciliğin geleceği üzerindeki etkilerini araştırmayı amaçlamaktadır.
