Eski Ankara'nın Şimdiki Hali
Milattan önce 8. yüzyıl'da hititler tarafından kurulan bu şehir yıllar boyunca şehir özelliğini korumuş ve günümüze kadar gelmiş. Ankara adı frigler zamanı gemi çapası demek olan "ankor" dan gelmektedir. Esasında uzun yıllar tiftik üretimi sonucu uzun bir süre zamanına göre büyük bir kent olarak kalmış.
Avrupa'da sanayi gelişimi sonrası tiftik ticareti azalmış ve şehir küçük bir kasabaya dönüşmüş, ta ki başkent olana kadar. O eski Ankara'dan ise fazla bir yapı kaldığı söylenemez.
