Fire pot ( Kangri )
Kangri (fire pot ) or portable fire pot. It is only used in Kashmir in winters. It keeps people warm during winter. we can also use Kangri under blankets , shawls etc. Now a days 30% of people have replaced Kangri with electric heaters, power blankets, gas heaters etc. But 70% of people are still using Kangri in Kashmir during winters.it is the very old tradition in Kashmir and people prefer Kangri because they can take it along . It is filled with charcoal.
nice to know how it actually works, a manual firepot with no mechanism, helps prople keep warm in harsh winters, as snow covers each and every part outside but still these things are handy when their is failure of electricity and other sources.
