Photo Share #4 - The Chapel of Ascension in Jerusalem
Not long after the death and resurrection of Jesus, early Christians began to gather in secret to commemorate his Ascension. This was happening at a small cave on Mount of Olives. Today it is known as The Chapel of Ascension, a site believe to be the spot where Jesus ascended into Heaven after his resurrection. This is one of the must visit places in Jerusalem.
Another interesting fact is that there's a slab of stone believed to contain one of Jesus' footprints. His right feet's print to be exact. This slab is called the Ascension Rock.
The Islamic Waqf of Jerusalem still holds authority to the Chapel but it is currently opened to visitors of all faiths.
