Production Management || The Plant Tour Experienced
As part of our subject Management 7 (Production Management) the third year Business and Custom Administration at University of Cebu Lapulapu and Mandaue conducted a “Plant Tour” at Profood International Corporation. This is to further expose the student in the actual production of the products.
Going into the tour, I was not entirely sure what to expect, but I was looking forward to it. It’s kind of interesting and exciting feeling of what will happen to our plant tour. As we alight our bus, we saw employees working for Profood International Corporation. After that, our plant tour guide approached and teaches us about what are do’s and don’ts inside of the production. The first activity we had was the introduction of the company wherein we watched a short video presentation on how the company started and how it’s produced its products. One of their main products is dried mangos, pineapple, guava and juice drinks. Most of their raw materials really came from the tropical country of the Philippines making this company a truly Filipino trademark. The company has major operations in Manila, Cebu, and Davao. They also exported different dried products from different parts of the world.
In the next phase, we toured the plant, it was clean and the dried mangos machineries were really huge. I really appreciate the company for meeting the international standard when it comes to production. I also salute their advance dried product technology and the system they imposed on how they manufacture and deliver the products that made them proud to become one of the leading and highly innovated dried products making company in the world. As they envision to become known of providing high quality products not just here in the Philippines but also worldwide. In the end, the experienced was self – fulfilling because we’re able to see the actual production of the products. It gives us a lot of information and widens our knowledge when it comes to production, which also in the future we can use in our chosen field of specialization. It was also enjoyable because when the time we leave, they give us tokens, which is truly a remarkable and unforgettable experienced.
