Nantasket Beach Reservation
Nantasket beach has a long standing tradition of dedication and public service. In 1786, organized shore based lifesaving began in Boston Harbor with a group of concerned citizens and volunteers. The Massachusettes Humane Society erected huts of refuge off treacherous waters throughout the state including Nantasket Beach. They group also maintained lifesaving equipment and surfboats which were styled to handle the heavy surf off Hull.
The surfboat was used parimarily in the early 1900s, was donated by the Hull Lifesaving Museum in the memory of the US.
It’s now a harbor for boating and pleasure purpose. You can find very fine nice restaurants in this area and enjoy the breeze of the wind coming from the ocean. The place is packed in summer. A good place to hang out and enjoy the sun and water.
