@hansmast African Wednesday entry:

For one heart-stopping moment, this giant Simba was 7 feet away, had his eyes fixed upon me, and was walking right toward me in my open-sided safari vehicle. My pulse went through the roof, but at the last possible second, he turned aside and walked around our vehicle.

I took this photo inside of Saint Nicholas Cathedral in Monaco. This is the tomb of Grace Patricia Kelly, who became Princess Grace of Monaco after marrying Rainier III in 1956. Princess Grace was married inside this church and was buried here after her tragic death in a 1982 car accident. I took this photo on September 14, 2014, the 32nd anniversary of her death. The church was fairly full with people coming here to remember her on this day.

Ponte Vecchio is the famous historical bridge in Florence that looks like it has houses hanging off it. They are actually shops, shops that use to sell meat back in the medieval times but is now selling gold and local handcraft jewellery. The bridge look very magnificent from afar, especially on a gloomy afternoon when all the lights are turned on.

Beautiful Florence, glad to have an entry from there, especially such an amazing image. Tomas

This magical "Fairy Bridge" is hidden away on the West Coast of Scotland, set in ancient woodland with a stream running down from the mountains you could think you were in a scene from Lord of the Rings!

Great entry:)

That truly is beautiful. What a great scenery.

Thank you Tomas!

I love the coast and most of my travels end up near some shoreline. This photo here was taken in Wales a few years ago. It shows the Mumbles Lighthouse and Bracelet Bay on the Gower Peninsula. It was still long before sunrise and I used a long time exposure to capture this scene. This created some nice mystic look with the moving clouds and fog like water

What a sky! Tremendous colors.

This shot was taken near an unnamed lake in norway, in an empty area in the highlands between the shore and the inland. Its late of the day, cloudy and no humand beeing are in 30 miles reach. A great moment to remember.

Thank you so much for your wonderful entry. The reflection in your image is stunning.

It has been a while since my last photo from Iceland.
Today’s challenge hosted by @czechglobalhosts is just right for a new one.
Photo below is from coast near Jokulsarlon Lagoon.
Photo full of contrast with touch of long exposure.

I just have to make it to Iceland one day. So many great images from there are just rising my curiosity.

Sunset over the Lipu oasis, Italy

editedresized_DSC1433.jpg

Well, could be just a stretch of water, but in fact this place it's one of the best place to admire birds in all Italy.
The Lipu oasis it's a WWF natural reserve located in Tuscany, near the coast, on the eastern side of a lake named Massaciuccoli.
There, along the year seasons, you can admire the arrival and the departure of hundreds of different bird species and their massive migrations.
Around the oasis you can hide youself with your cameras inside wood shacks and quietly admire the nature.
A place to visit, not so known, if you are traveling in Italy near the tuscany coast.

That seems like a fabulous place and your image is just adding to its beauty. Thank you for sharing. Tomas

The first thing that comes to my mind when I think of Naxos island, is Portara, witch means great door in Greek.

This iconic monument is just the door of what was supposed to be one of the biggest temples in ancient Greece but was never completed!

Two in one - the beautiful ancient sight and the lovely sunset!

Thank you @rimicane for the support, glad you liked it!

What a capture! Great job, thank you for sharing with all of us.

Thank you very much!

This place is called Sommoroy, a small island on the Westside of Tromso. Weren't it the snowy peaks in the background you would think you are in the Caribbean. Temperatures are rising here and soon all snow will be gone.

Great to run a contest like this since some places I have never heard of, just like this one:)... Thank you so much for participating with this entry. Tomas

Yeah, thanks for running this contest, always nice to go through the other entries.

I would love to go there one day:)

You should, I will write a more elaborate blog about this island soon :)

Please do it:)

In our second day on the Lofoten Islands in 2016, it was mostly raining. But the weather was constantly changing, and the breaks in the clouds created impressive play of light and shadows on the mountains. This shot I made on Flakstadoya Island near Vareid.
