The tower is towering in the heart of Bangkok

Located in the heart of Bangkok is a bustling 49-storey building is deserted - one of the most famous "ghost tower" in Thailand. Like dozens of other buildings, there has been no human shadow since the Asian financial crisis hit in 1997.

Bangkok is one of the most vibrant cities in Asia. The Golden Pavilion boasts pristine skyscrapers, one of which is MahaNakhon - an impressive 77-storey tower. In addition, some abandoned buildings, not a passerby, are found in the middle of the city.

One of the most famous abandoned buildings in Bangkok today is Sathorn Unique, known as the "Ghost Tower". Although no one lives on the line, Sathorn Unique has a strong appeal for tourists or explorers to explore.

The 49-storey building, built in 1990 with the goal of providing high-class apartments for the wealthy Bangkok. But this place was left behind after the Asian financial crisis erupted in 1997.

The Sathorn Unique Tower, which is named after the neighborhood, is built near the banks of the Chao Phraya River. Although at the present time, this place is home to bats, birds, weeds and wild vegetation, but still welcomes dozens of foreigners every day.

Back in time, dating back to the heyday of the 1990s, Bangkok rose fiercely with giant construction cranes. This is the investment money of real estate developer Rangsan Torsuwan obtained when selling luxury apartments along the Pattaya coast.

The Asian financial crisis that hit Thailand in 1997 caused the Thai government to devalue the baht. Investors rush to withdraw money as quickly as possible, causing a panic across the region. Around 500 major construction projects, from shopping centers to high-end railways, are severely affected.

After the crisis, construction works are restarted, but the "ghost tower" is not on the list.

Rangsan was arrested in 1993 when he tried to kill Thailand's Supreme Court President. This is a strange case that caused him to be sentenced to 15 years in prison, then acquitted in 2010. Currently his son is in charge of the "ghost tower". One must hire a security team to monitor the building regularly, avoid the case of illegal infringement.

Most of the abandoned buildings can not be destroyed due to contractual disagreements. In addition, due to poor structural quality, this facility is unsuitable for retention and development. Many people predicted, the Sathorn Unique Tower will continue to exist for decades, but very expensive to solve.
