Introducing my sister, Trek Star Sam!

That is my sister, Samantha Lee Mathews, out there living the expat life in Romania at the moment, exploring the food, the parks, and the culture. The “Call of the Cows” excerpt arranged for the piano by Rossini was provided by me, at her request. I'm more of a homebody than my sister, and so there was a time when I didn't understand why she was globetrotting to Japan, Turkey, the Netherlands, Albania, Poland, Romania, Spain, Ghana, Jordan, Israel, Abu Dhabi and probably some other places I cannot remember.

But, I have President Donald Trump to thank for reminding me that the world is much bigger than the United States, and that talented African Americans have often found support and respect and a good life as expatriates.

My sister is a trailblazer for our family, and it is my honor to provide my musical talent to support her new venture, and to introduce her to my readers here on Steemit. She is also a talented writer, and so I am concurrently going to tell her about Steemit in the hopes that she will share some of her experiences here. The perspective of an African American woman living abroad is one that Josephine Baker and Tina Turner have experienced but have not written about … my sister has a voice that needs to be heard.
