Traditional Danish frokost in Gundsømagle
Four days ago, @hanedane (Allan) and I arrived in his homeland of Denmark. On our first full day here we visited with Allan's family: his mother Gurli, his brother Nicolai, his sister and her husband, Jannie and Carsten.

We met at Jannie's home in Gundsømagle. She had cooked us up a traditional Danish frokost (lunch) with ribbensteg, frikadeller, liverwurst, herring, schnapps... a lovely spread we ate on their charming sun porch during a rainstorm. What a memorable meal!
ribbensteg (pork with a crispy top layer of fat)
frikadeller (pork meatballs)
This was my plate of pumpernickel, fat (fedt),
herring, and onion, with a shot of schnapps
liverwurst and mushrooms
Yes, I did eat the liverwurst... unlike most Americans, I like liverwurst, though I must admit that it's much richer here in Denmark than your typical Oscar Mayer liverwurst back in the states!
Jannie also has a lovely back garden; we explored and sniffed her flowers between rain showers.

Thank you Jannie and Carsten for a lovely Danish frokost!
