#24 Haas Travels! Portugal saying goodbye to Europe. Overview (Pictures)

in #travel5 years ago

Thanks, and Thanks again for welcoming me yesterday, so what happened to me??!!

I don’t really know myself! Okay maybe I do know.. I just had no energy to add blogging to my 9-5 grind. Every week I felt myself going into a routine more and more, did not really like the job I was in, but we all need money right?
I was dreaming of a life as a digital nomad, even though I suck with computers! Do you feel my struggle?
I even started an online English course in order to teach kids abroad, but I am not an native speaker so was that really the solution? Nah don’t think so.

As mentioned I was really struggling with my day to day job selling high end Italian suits, mostly because I love to wear casual clothing. Do you feel my struggle?
The job got me good money and I was able to save good money as well on top off that I was living in a house full off friends in the city Centre of Amsterdam. So how could I change my life? I was thinking about this for a few months and it really got to my emotional wellbeing.
Until one day one of my regular costumers came in to buy from me and we started talking, he always was very impressed with my selling skills and asked me about my background and before I knew it the talk almost felt like an job interview.

He is a Dutch gentlemen who moved to Asia close to 40 years ago and has some successful companies there. Because of his age he was looking for somebody who can help him build his company and maybe one day take it all over.
That someone is ME now!!! I visited Bangkok for a week just to see if I would like working there and during my visit my contract was discussed. I was moving to Bangkok!

When I got home, I quit my job immediately and booked a holiday to Portugal! Aswell I would go on a vacation planned earlier with my friends to Mexico.

So enjoy my Portugal pictures my last European escape for a while.
The trip got me to Lisbon and Porto!

When I reintroduced myself I said there are 5 months’ worth off travel pictures to come! So, stay tuned.
In my new job I am response for Asia so will be able to travel a lot! Next week to the Maldives. But before that lets catch up with me sharing my travel inspiration.

Hi there,

it has been a while! I think we connected almost two years ago, as fellow Dutchies

So many parallels here...

I moved to Portugal last year
Quit my 9 to 5 ( or actually far from 9 to 5 teaching job ) in 2016, went all-in on crypto

I am about to travel to Asia ( India ) in November for something that could be called a business opportunity but is so much more than that ( filmmaking, meditation retreat, hanging out with Steemian friends, an Indian wedding, among other things )

Cool to have you back and I’m looking forward to following your journey

All the best

Onwards and upwards ;>)

P.S. Before I forget... are you aware of Steemfest taking place in Bangkok this November? I might actually go there from India

recognized your name, sounds really good the things you have planned! wanted to go more all- in with Cryptos aswell but Steem is not really doing anything. Still like connecting with people most.
Great you are meeting fellow Steemians as well.
Just got to my attention that SF4 is in Bangkok, good change for me to go!!!
Missed 1 in Amsterdam when I did not know Steemit exsisted

have a good one

There's a lot of stuff happening behind the steems of Steemit but yeah, the price does not seem to reflect that at all. Nevertheless, I keep investing in the platform now it's dirt cheap to buy in. If the market is gonna go way up ( again ), I expect the price of Steem to grow too.

Meanwhile, I merely invest in loads of other cryptocurrencies. I love my Exodus desktop wallet an the built in Shapeshift exchange :>)

Yeah, same here about Steemfest in Amsterdam. The one in Lissabon took place months before I went to Portugal.

And it is, indeed, all about connecting. Life isn't meant to live on our own, in a bubble or just staring at a screen.

Groetjes!
