in #travel7 years ago (edited)

Hello, dear my steemian friends. Welcome to the wolf of the unknown towns. As you guess, the wolf of the unknown towns is I am :) This is first post of my travel series. I love travelling so much. I wanna introduce you every places I visit and see. There are a lot of things what I wanna tell you about places I see. I will writing all of them in this series. I hope, you like them. I will writing about Alaçatı / Izmir / TURKEY in this post. Okey so, let's start.

Now, I will introduce you awesome place what you have never seen. Name of the place what I talking about is Alaçatı!

This place is a small town in Izmir/Çeşme. Actually, Alaçatı is a quiet town (the populatin of Alaçatı is about 10.000) but every year, thousands of people come here. Because, this is a very famous tourist area. Tranquil turquoise sea and sleepy and unspoilt, with low mountains hovering on the horizon, narrow cobbled streets lined with cosy outdoor cafes and restaurants, offer an peaceful seaside break on the Turkish Aegean coast. This place is perfectly beautiful. Every street is awesome.

We walked every street, every path, with my girlfriend. We tasted the regional foods. As you can see in the photo, artichoke is famous in here. We haven't eaten but you absolutely must it. Artichoke is the best thing since sliced bread. There's a legendary story about artichoke, I will tell you the story at the end of the article.

There are cafes and restaurants like in this photo

You can have a great time here. You can bike on narrow streets, you can taste food you never see, you can get souvenir from old and historic shops. The town is unpretentious place, scattered with ivory-coloured stone houses and rustic boutique hotels with old wooden doors and pastel-hued window shutters draped with pink and purple bougainvillea.

I would wanna live in here

I took many photos in Alaçatı. Some of them is here:

Also, girls are very beautiful in here. Maybe, you interest :)

So, now let's go that legendary story about artichokes.

According to a Greek legend; Cynara was a cute girl who lived in the island (the name of island Zinari). God Zeus, suddenly, noticed the young, beautiful, mortal woman at the seaside while he was visiting his brother (God of sea Poseidon).  She didn't seem scared of God's presence, Zeus caught the girl and they made love. Zeus was very happy and he decided to take her to the Mountain of Olimpus by making her a Goddess. Cynara accepted this offer and she started living with him in Olimpus. She was happily spending time here but at the same time she was missing her mother and the place where her lived. One day, in secret from Zeus, she decided to make a short visit to the world of mortals. Zeus learned this situation, he was very angry and he thought it was a behavior that didn't suit the deity. He was furious. He threw Cynara into the world from Olimpus and he turned it into a plant we know as artichokes. So, the artichoke which has one of the beautiful flowers in the world of plants is Cynara, suffered by Zeus.

Love to all of you dear steemians... See you in next post, take care yourself...
