1.Location
Nha Trang Bay, an area of about 507 km² including 19 large and small islands, of which Hon Tre is the largest island with an area of 32.5 km2; The smallest island is Hon Nok only about 4 km

2.climate and ecosystems
The bay has two distinct seasons: dry season lasts from January to August, rainy season from September to December; the average annual temperature is 26⁰C; the hottest is 39 ° C, the coldest is 14.4 ° C. Ecologically, Nha Trang Bay is one of the rare natural models of the lagoon system in the world because it has the most typical and rare ecosystems of tropical waters. It is wetland ecosystems, coral reefs, mangrove forests, seagrass beds, estuarine ecosystems, marine island ecosystems, coastal sandy ecosystems. Especially, the Hon Mun area of Nha Trang Bay has the highest biodiversity with 350 species of coral reefs occupying 40% of coral reefs in the world.

3.Islands
Nha Trang Bay has many beautiful and famous islands in the world. Among the many islands in the bay are many islands such as:
Hon Mun is a small island in the bay, called "Hon Mun" because the south east of the island has high cliffs, walls are difficult to form caves, especially black here as ebony , very rare in other places. Biodiversity survey results show that Hon Mun is the richest and most diverse coral reef in Vietnam. 340 of the more than 800 species of hard corals in the world have been found. Since 2001, Hon Mun Marine Protected Area was established, including Hon Tre, Hon Mieu, Hon Tam, Hon Mot, Hon Mun, Hon Cau, Hon Vung, Hon Rom, Hon Nui and surrounding waters. The area of about 160 km2 covers about 38 km2 of land and about 122 km2 of water around the islands. This is the only marine protected area in Vietnam.
