Pulau Gambar Village - Green Sumatra

Hi all steemians! This rainy October i am visiting a green village in a corner of North Sumatra called Pulau Gambar, its located in Serdang Bedagai regency. This wet season, almost every day is raining and cloudy with cool air. Walking during the day is quite fun with a little light from the sun and friendly people around.

In this village almost all of the residents are farmers. They plant rice, which is the main thing for them to eat. Then also horticulture such as chili, onion, and vegetables like tomato, spinach, and herbs spices like lemon grass.

Besides farming, they also take care livestock such as goats, sheep, cattle, chickens and ducks. I see almost every house has a cattle pen in its backyard. And often I run into someone who drives a motorcycle with carrying lots of grass with him. and I had asked what the grass for. And that it was for feeding their goats and cows. So they go every day looking for bushy grasslands that can be cut and taken home to feed their cattle.

They said it would be great if I come here again in the paddy growing season, where the green and yellow stretches of rice were everywhere. I heard their advice but unfortunately I had to continue my journey to another village that I would visit and do my statistical research.
