Breeze through US border control
With Mobile Passport Control
The US and Canadian Customs process is being digitized and streamlined, to speed up the entry into these two countries.
April 2018, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection unveiled its Mobile Passport Control app, for iPhone and iPad users. An Android version of the app will be available in September 2018.
So far 23 US airports are using this process:

- Boston
- Chicago
- Dallas
- Denver
- Fort Lauderdale
- Houston
- Los Angeles
- Miami
- Minneaplis
- New York
- Newark
- Orlando
- Phoenix
- Raleigh Durham
- Sacramento
- San Diego
- San Francisco
- San Jose
- Seattle
- Tampa
- Washington Dulles
Great for the traveler
I saw it last week returning from the Czech Republic to Boston. No one in line... let me say how great this will be when 3 or 4 planes arrive at the same time!
They expect the roll out to other airports in the US by the end of the year. However, it is still unknown whether the app will be extended to cover citizens from other countries as well.
The app is free And it is easy to create your passport profile, it literally takes just minutes. You store that profile for future use and you can add or subtract other profiles for fellow travelers arriving with you.
This replaces the self-service kiosks at most airports, which have already cut down on wait times by as much as 40%.
Anything that helps this arduous and frustrating problem of getting back in your own country is certainly welcome.
