I continue my story about a trip to Georgia. We are in the capital of Georgia - Tbilisi. The Tbilisi cable car is very popular among the guests. It serves as quite good entertainment.
The cable car connects the Rike Park and the observation deck on the Sololaki Ridge. There is a castle Narikala and the monument to the Mother Kartli (Mother of Georgia). A great option for those who do not want to climb the mountain on foot.
Cable car cabins, new and very fast. Out of the booth, you can see the Old Town from above.
The lower platform of the cableway is located in the Rica Park. This modern cable car was opened recently, in June 2012. The duration of the trip is a few minutes, the distance is only 600 meters.

Each cabin is well equipped: inside there are soft comfortable seats Such 7 glass cabins with a capacity of 8 people each.
The cabs are going very fast, I would say, it is more a means of transportation than an overview for the city.
A couple of minutes passed ... and we are already at the Narikala fortress.
We managed to see the rooftops from above!
Ascent takes only 2 minutes and costs 2.5 GEL one way.
To ride the cable car, you can use the Metromoney card. This is a universal "travel card", operating on almost all public transport in the city. It can be bought at any of the metro stations for 2 GEL.

You do not plan to visit the fortress or you are very afraid of heights? I still recommend that you decide on a small flight over the Old Town of Tbilisi. No fears, you will feel only the feeling of joy and delight from the beautiful views of the ancient city of Tbilisi.
