Today has been a bit of a stressful day! I have been looking into caravan insurance briefly and found out something I had no idea about....
When i bought our car i felt it was a benefit it already had a tow bar fitted, it is a benefit...But something has come as a shock to me today, it turns out a towbar fitted is a modification and insurance need to be notified! this is news to me and im guessing a far amount of drivers with tow bars... -
At best i will have to pay a fee to have my insurance amended - at worst I will have to change insurance at great cost (some insurance wont cover any mods - though fingers crossed a towbar is OK), .
Car will not be driven until insurance can be informed and changed - what a pain in the ar*e

At least we don't get charged extra in Australia for towbars fitted as every second vehicle has one here.

I think here most dont charge, you just have to inform the insurance - i just never knew about it, glad i do now though as it could have invalidated a claim!
