Trekking From Chamonix To Zermatt - Walkers Haute Route - Day 1

A first day of the trek started already at midnight, leaving home to Tallinn airport. After 2 flights (Tallinn - Helsinki - Genova) we used our booked transfer From Genova airport to Chamonix. The distance is about 80 km and there are many options to book in advance, so no problem at all.

First thing in Chamonix was finding some outdoor gear shop, because we needed to buy some cooking gas for stoves - all the rest of neccessary stuff we took from home with us, including food for two weeks. This task was really easy, there's no problem at all to find trekking gear for sale! Much more trouble was finding the right way out of Chamonix, but after some 30 minutes of roaming we were out of town and on the way...

Due to sleepless night we had planned a short and easy day. It was literally just walking in park, only encountered some mild ascents and descents. The interesting part was avoiding local speeding cyclists on the trail.

On first day we covered just 10 kilometres in 3 hours and eventually reached to official campiste in Argentiere, finished the day... Regardless of the heavy backpacks, now I can say, it was one of the easyest days on entire trek!
