RE: Somewhere in Europe #15: The area of Nafplio, Greece

Will these words last that long?
We're powerful in a way those Kings couldn't even dream.
When we write something, it's recorded indefinitely.
Even if we die and those who come after hate what we've written, it'll stay here; safe on the blockchain, more permanent than any structure, carving or inscription.
Who knows what message King Example the 1st wanted to leave us; if King Example the 2nd, 3rd or 10th didn't like it, it was destroyed.

you're making me nervous here :) Maybe they will mass downvote the account in 500 years because it is "outdated information"!

Every word is there forever, 3 seconds after it's typed.
Downvoting just affects visibility on the steemit website.
The data is still publicly visible on the blockchain.

yeah, but who queries the blockchain anyway? (please don't tell me you do)

No, nuts and bolts aren't my forte. I'm sure it'll be a snap in the future though. Smarter people than I will build the tools.
It really is incredibly empowering.
