Burrowing owls make their nest underground and Cape Coral, FL has many sites where you can photograph this wonderful bird. Once you found the nest, setup your tripod and you can take as many photos you want, they won't fly away. Maps

Paynes Prairie is the place, near Gainesville, FL. Hundreds of alligators live there. This place used to have also live bufalos and horses. Map
There are no fences, so watch out. No pets allowed in Paynes Prairie.

They are not native of Florida, but you can see them on the Silver River, in Silver River, FL. They were introduced in the wildlife in the '50s. The best way to spot them is by boat or kayak. Map
