Starting over... Again

After 42 days of waiting to close on a house it all came crashing down while I was literally sitting in the title office signing the paperwork to close on the home. Turns out there was no occupancy permit and I would get fined and by the city monthly until I got it fixed and by taxes for at least a year or two before they would get the payment fixed! Oh yeah, and I would have to fix the house and get a city inspector to clear it before we could move it. Obviously that was not going to work for us.

So here we are, in exactly the same place as we were 2 months ago... starting all over again.

After this terrible incident we took it as a sign from the universe that we weren't meant to be there. I have never felt so lost in my life. We decided we were going back to our original plan, back down to the south east, North Carolina. We did find some homes we liked there we just made a rash decision to go up to Michigan because it was the Midwest (which we both love) and Marijuana is medically legal there (which would be a huge benefit for me to help with my PTSD). Turns out that maybe that isn't a great reason to move somewhere and the universe corrected it for us. Life lessons are never easy or cheap.

We woke up Sat Morning knowing we had to come up with a plan quickly. We decided NC was our last hope. We drove straight through on Sat from Michigan back down to North Carolina, dragging a U-haul trailer with all of our lives packed away in it. At first we were rather upset, but that eventually turned into hope. Maybe this is the right move ultimately.
I mean we love the warm weather, we love the beautiful scenery and we had each other, what else do we need!?!

We found some homes that have 3+ acres and are secluded, that was literally what we wanted all along! We had settled on a home in the city in Michigan because it was all we could find in our price range and we figured we could deal with it for a year or two until we flipped it and found something more suiting. We were settling to say the least. I think we were willing to do that because we were so tired of looking for homes at that point and traveling more didn't seem like right move, boy were we wrong! LoL

So here we are, sitting in a hotel room in NC, waiting for it to be 9 am so we can call realtors and start looking at potential homes again. Wish us luck on this endeavor, apparently we need it!
