Spectacular Muir Woods

My foremost thought as I walked on the trail in Muir Woods is that any human being no matter how big or how arrogant would be humbled and could but admire the sheer magnificence of these seriously old redwood trees. They stand so tall and upright like towers and spreading their canopy of green high up beyond reach.

Muir Woods is a National Monument and we could that much is being done to preserve the Woods and its wildlife. Visitors are now allowed bring food or apply lotions or sprays in the park. The latter is aimed to protect the wildlife that is 'scent sitive'.

We got a couple of maps ar the Visitor Center and embarked on our ambitious stroll on a boardwalk and paved trail. The kiddo was not interested in being pushed on his stroller and chose to run and explore. One of us had to carry him most of the time. We were told that at the Bohemian Trail, we would be able to see the tallest tree is above two hundred and sixty feet.

We walked for an hour or so making many stops to take pictures and appreciate the beauty and serenity of the Woods. Back at the Visitor Center, we got several souvenirs like tees and mugs for friends and ourselves.
