Inside Osaka# 23: Osaka Aquarium

Hello my Steemit friends,

One of the popular sightseeing spots in the city, the Osaka Aquarium is definitely a place you should visit when you come to Osaka, Japan.

Osaka Aquarium or Kaiyukan is located in Tempozan Harbor Village near Osaka bay. It’s not just famous for kids, adults also enjoy the underwater environment. Inside of the strange structure of the building are 15 huge tanks displaying the life of undersea animals from every part of the world.

In the front of this aquarium there is a big whale that people love to stop by and take pictures. In the winter the whole place is illuminated with seasonal lights, too.

We walked through the aqua gate, which is a big tunnel at the entrance and then passed through the Japan forest.

Look at that seal. He looks sleepy. Lol🤣

Penguin zone, they are in a temperature controlled room like at the north pole.

We continued into the underwater world zone, the highlight was the big whales swimming in the huge tank.The biggest tank is the 9 meter deep center tank, which contains the whales.

There are various fishes that made the tank very colorful.

You can see and study the water plant life here, too.

After enjoying the underwater animals, before the exit you can see the penguins up close. The sign explains the differences in characteristics of child and adult penguins. The one on the right is an adult and the left one is a child.

And there is also a chance to touch a baby shark under controlled conditions. I did it! It was a little bit scary touching them. 😝
