Travel though Tailand: take care of your wallets

in #travel6 years ago (edited)

Hi everybody. This is my first post on Steemitt. In addition, I am not strong in English, so do not swear please.

So, my friend recently came from Thailand. He rested there for 2 weeks, and this holiday hit hard on his wallet. I will give two examples of how a country of thousands of smiles can deceive you.

The first trap (no, it's not the trap you thought of) is bars. One day my friend and another dude decided to have a drink at the local bar. By the way, this bar was different in that there were a lot of girls who, for an extra fee, would introduce you with their rich inner world.

The guys wanted to spend around 2000 Thai baht for booze (about $ 60 US). They chose a table and asked to drink. After 2 minutes they were hooked by 2 girls who immediately ordered a drink. Well, the boys were not against it - it's nice to watch a beautiful woman drink before you. Later, 2 other girls joined their table. They also ordered a drink. When my friend asked for an account, the girls quietly dissolve in the crowd. The amount of the check my friend saw hurt him. He was sicker than Jamie Lannister, when he lost his hand.

The check turned out to be 200 bucks. He, of course, tried to argue, but in time realized that it was useless. Well, at least he kept his teeth and remembered an important lesson - if there is a crowd of Thai people around you, it's better to pay a miserable 200 bucks and run. As I think, for these babki it was possible to feed the girls with something else: D

The second disappointment was waiting for him when he wanted to hire a motorcycle. In the kit was a motorcycle helmet, which has already seen something in its lifetime. However, a friend signed the lease documents (this is important!) And left to drive along the roads. When it was time to take the equipment, the tenants pointed to the wear and tear on the helmet. Nobody began to listen to the tales that the helmet was already scratched - the friend signed the documents. He had to pay. Again.

I do not in any way want to hurt someone's interests or insult someone. In every country there are both good people, and not quite. Be careful and vigilant, and I'll go to the bar and ride a motorcycle. See you;)
