Salt River Canyon, Arizona
Driving on Highway 60 through the juniper-covered hills of eastern Arizona, 40 mile northeast of Globe, you come to the Salt River Canyon, a product of thousands of years of water cutting its way through the rock. The steep and twisting road through the canyon descends close to the river before crossing and climbing back up the opposite side. You can stop at any of the scenic pull-offs along the top, or at the rest stop at the bottom, where you can get a good look at the bridge and hike along the edge of the river. You will need to get a permit from the White Mountain Apache Tribe if you want to hike beyond the overlooks on the north side of the river. These cost $15 and can be purchased online. FOr shorter hikes along the river and in the gorge, no permits are necessary.

I've been really upset this week the world's largest copper manufacturing company Resolution Copper from Australia, is making a proposal to dump all their tailings in our valley, they are destroying Superior right now using and sucking up all the watershed there and Oak Flats, another War of the World scenario.. Auspicious I woke up to this video being the first thing I opened on my feed.. I now live in Oregon, but will be looking into this issue deeply this week.. Great Video One of the most overlooked fishing experiences in this area is trout fishing the Salt River below Saguaro Lake. Rainbow Trout, Largemouth Bass, Sunfish and Catfish can all be found in the waters of the Salt River below Saguaro Lake.
