RE: Utah Rocks! - Episode 1: Goblins and Jasper Geodes
An informative, fun, and beautiful post, Carl. We have a similar formation here in Canada. It is in Southern Alberta. Its smaller in scope but still pretty amazing to look at.
Not too far off is Drumhellar. They find all sorts of dinosaur bones there and it has a great museum for it.
Beautiful shot :) Yeah I read about the formations in Canada while I was researching this post, some of the exact same geologic layers exposed in Goblin Valley are also exposed in Canada, although they are called by a different name in Canada. Awesome! Rocks rock!
We call them hoodoos. One of my favorite words:)
