Abandoned Park in Louxi

in #travel7 years ago

For all of the new ecological parks and developments popping up over China, you can still find pockets of abandoned space. For the most part, these can be more on the fringes of town and farther away from the urban city centers. One such place in Changzhou is  Tibetan Spring Garden 藏春园.  This is out by the airport, which means it's not that fair from the city boundary line with Danyang. I had been here more than a year ago and wondered whether or not it was being renovated. It still seems pretty much boarded up and abandoned.

The park has an island surrounded by a moat, but access is blocked off. The gates are locked.

There are even abandoned fish tanks.

There are also lots of weird statues.

This one was of a famous and legendary sage from thousands of years.

This particular was passionately into fishing.

The fishing pole went missing and was replaced with a "danger of falling into water" sign.  Yet, the weirdest thing here were the abandoned statues just laying around like dead bodies.

Sort:

That would be a really creepy park to wander around at night. The amount of abandoned places in China fascinates me though. Good find.

I love abandoned places. It is a mixture of sadness and inspiration. Thank you for a great trip!
