hello dear friends

it will be time again to post, I'm so bored in the last days that I really get to write everything down, but read by yourself, the magical trip to the beach and the second week in the ashram ...

no worries today, there are also many photos, for the read-lazy among you.

8.9. - 15.9.

Well rested, we all met at 7:30 for yoga in the outdoor area. Edda had completed her yoga teacher training in Peru a few months ago and would be in charge today, so I wanted to join again.
she did a great course and we then had breakfast very relaxed, before everyone collected their beach clothes together and edda, manu and diego, manu's brother, said goodbye to the ashram people, because they would drive straight from the beach to rio.
in the car with seven people and seven backpacks on the roof our journey began back down the mountain, the winding road, also known as the camino de oro, the path of gold.
At a small road in the last third of the way to Paraty, we stopped for a moment to buy bananas and I checked the breaks to find that they were almost glowing.
The metal had become so hot that the plastic cap, which protects the axle, and normally locks in place, had melted off. So we put in a compulsory break to cool down the brakes first with air and then with water and the man from the booth sold us some bananas before taking this great photo.

Of course we could have guessed what to expect due to the signs ...

from that point on I mainly used the gears to slow down the car and we reached paraty around 1pm, after refueling, edda and diego hitchhiked towards the beach so as not to attract attention in the police check while we were buying everything for the campfire and the breakfast.
we met again to eat açaí in patrimônio, here we left the main road and drove together again in the direction of the beach.

in laranjeiras we parked the car and then hiked with our backpacks to the praia de sono, we reached the ocean about an hour later and then walked all the way along the beach to arrive at the praia dos antiguos, our goal, after crossing a small river and a further mountain.

As the sun soon sets, we quickly set up our camp and collected a supply of firewood. We then wrapped potatoes and other vegetables in aluminum foil and cooked them right in the fire while we told each other the country-typical fairy tales. At some point everyone cuddled up at the campfire and I talked to Edda about music, when I started: von wegen lisbeth, a good german band, that gets more popular since the last two years, Rodrigo got up and started to dance. motivated, edda and I started to jump through the sand and finally we listened to the whole album and danced until we fell asleep breathless and sweating in front of the campfire.

We awoke sandy on sunday morning at the beach. We re-ignited the fire and then cooked a tea while we ate our breakfast. somehow the weather was not much better, I then walked a few hundred meters to the next tiny beach.

when i got back to the others, edda and rodrigo just wanted to do a bit of akro yoga, but then we turned it into a workshop for all of us and had a lot of fun hovering or floating.

It was time to test the water and so we all ran together in the not so strong waves, after we found out that our swimwear taste is awesome.

After a dip in the river that flows into the ocean here, we packed the tents and things together and made our way back to the car.

our ways should soon be separated, because edda, manu and diego will try to hitchhike to rio today and we will drive back to the ashram.
It was a heartfelt farewell to the three of them. I hope I can see them again, because they all travel north, like me.
Back in the ashram, two new volunteers were waiting for us, laiz and dennis. Both from Brazil and both very curious about the workaway experience.
We chatted with them while chai cooked noodles and went to bed early.

early in the morning I woke up in my bed and was looking forward to the fruity breakfast, which was waiting for me, yesterday we had a shopping tour in paraty and I had covered myself with mangos and maracujas.

When Aaron got up to work, I was a little bit surprised that he had planned to visit Trinity in the garden, but probably it was about cutting the extra wood that would be used for the paths in the new garden.
I was right and then quickly made this second big pile to shred.

After lunch, I phoned Nelson and learned very interesting news, which surprised me powerfully, but life in Germany goes on and on.
I spent my afternoon together with Dennis in the wood workshop, I will build a wooden box in the next time. Since Dennis is interested in how this works, we worked together for some time before it got dark and we went to dinner and went to sleep.

After breakfast today I was again surprised by the distribution of work, again Trinity and Dennis. We walked about 15 minutes to one of the numerous neighbors, who had cows.

at least since the satsang farm in Chile, I know that cow dung is a very good fertilizer, so I could already imagine what we will do. So we spend the morning in the cow farm and collected the valuable product in heaps.

For lunch we went back and we ate delicious salad, as well as rice and beans.
After lunch and coffee, I dealt with a new task from pablo. on the roof of the new community hall, a kind of waved slabs were used, not a metal-sheet, a kind of clay with braid underneath. At the edges right and left, however, these holes form in the finished roof. So I was working on cutting wooden boards in wave form and fitting them in their place. relatively demanding, because not only the roof, but also the natural woods, that were used for the substructure are not straight.

I also tinkered with the box. There was a very great workshop in the evening. "the art of adi da" the spiritual teacher whom the people here follow, has created not only a few books but also stunning art typ, that he calls transcendental realism. a series of pictures is particularly interesting, he photographs the reflection of light from the inside of a pool and then puts pictures on top of each other.

I also made a new entry for the blog before going to sleep.

a relatively unspectacular wednesday, cutting the right roof parts takes a long time and I have to do a strenuous job as you have to work with great precision and concentration. The parts are always visible and so they will be a part of the community for a long time.
charlie, the man of the electricity, provided the large thickness planer with a new 330 V line, so that I can now work with it and go on with the chest.
I took advantage of this opportunity and prepared a lot of boards to facilitate the later work.
In the evening, Mori, a new volunteer from Israel, arrived and we talked for a long time.

Today we started again with delicious green juice and a lot of sun in the day.

before noon, I continued building in the new roof on the community hall, so the wavy wooden boards that will bring a good optical finish at the end. i almost finished with all the boards for the inside.
the delicious lunch and the subsequent coffee break made me ready for the afternoon, which I spent completely in the workshop where i continued building the box.

i take special care in this project because i believe that it is something that will stay here for a long time in the ashram. I would like to build it as good as possible.
In the evening we showed each other the videos we had sent after we had applied for a volunteer place here in the ashram.
a funny thing.
When the fireplace went off and the tea was all, we went to sleep.

I started today with breakfast and work in the community hall.
I dealt with other boards of the roof area and made this beautiful picture of pablo's motorcycle, before noon in the rain.

After lunch and the café break, I ran through the rain to the workshop and went to the second seat box for the office. since it is built the same way as the first one, I only have to copy all the dimensions, it costs the most time to prepare the boards and timbers. Everything has to be planed and ground. Holes must be measured and pre-drilled, and everything must be put together properly. with my experienced hands, however, everything goes without problems and fast.
In the evening, we were all together in front of the fireplace and looked at a really stupid film, it was called: "swiss army man" and I could like anything from him.
then it went to sleep.

On saturday, we do not have to volunteer, so I use the time and the vacuum cleaner to make the car really fresh. I also screwed the whole dashboard apart to see if there is a possibility to somehow install a radio. I was disappointed and found only a few trimmed cables. So everything was screwed together again and I built a board, which is wedged behind the tailgate and prevents the mattress from slipping out.

In the afternoon, I had an appointment with John, he is also from Germany and lives but since 8 years here in Brazil. he has built some houses for the community and also does art by the way. We ran a long way over the terrain spoke a lot, even about steemit.com, I hope he perhaps creates an account, it would be an enrichment in any case for us all to see what he has to share. I also saw all sorts of places that were unknown to me.
I really like what he does, here you can see as an example a house, which he built some time ago.

Peter currently lives in this house. We then talked until it got dark and I went to dinner in the guesthouse.
Actually, we thought about going to pedra de marcela this afternoon, but it was cloudy and rainy. So we'll probably postpone this to tomorrow and then watch the sunset there.
