St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands, cruise ship destination
The island of St. Thomas, US Virgin Island, is the most important cruised destination in Caribbean. Many cruise ships, if not all of them, stop in St. Thomas, before sailing away to other Caribbean islands. Therefore, tourism is the main source of income for this little island.
The main dock is called Havensight. Once tourists get off the ships they see this sign:
... and, of course, an invitation to shopping:
Many shops lined up, everything under the sun is being sold in the Havensight Mall.
The main way of touring the island is by local group taxis, called "safari".
... loud drivers calling out for tourists... island style...
Across the street, there is another mall:
On the top of these stairs there is a marvelous place that I totally love.
This is the place. Can you guess what they sell???
The cheesiest, tastiest pizza on earth!!! The restaurant is called Pizza Amore! No wonder :)
St. Thomians are funny people. Their Department of Tourism included. You will see some funny signs like these:
I love St. Thomas, that's why I made this tiny island my second home.
