Visiting Hungary - a country with a remarkable history

in #travel5 years ago (edited)

Planning a trip can be very stressful. Finding the right destination, great apartments or hotels, and decent prices it's not so easy. Or maybe you just want to go without planning. Maybe this time come every month or every week but it's just impossible to leave everything and go travel around the world. It's always something that stops this plan. Money or you just don't have time for this stuff because you're working all the time. And then you're planning your trip for about one year and then something comes between and you can forget about everything.

So. The best way to go somewhere? Just go. Pick a destination and go! Without worrying about everything. You don’t need to go away for 2 weeks, just the weekend is enough to recharge yourself and start a new week filled with energy and optimism.

And this already happened for a second time this month. Why? Because it was spontaneous.

Most of the time when we’re celebrating birthday, we getter our friends, we buy alcohol and treats, and we start partying in some garage. But I have amazing friends and one of them decided to brake tradition and celebrate his birthday a little bit different this time. How? He gathered closest friends, picked a destination and the apartments and one week later we were on the way. Where, you ask?

Hungary. More exactly, the village Gyenesdias. 11 people, 3 cars and a lot of excitement.

I don't understand a word what they’re saying, and pronouncing is hard too, but they have amazing places here, and once you get to know this country, you will love it. At every turn, Hungary has a strong perception of history and tradition. From beautiful Budapest - the city of lights - to many interesting villages and fantastic landscapes. Cities and villages of all sizes have retained their classic old historical landmarks, many of which show the influences of different cultures, including Turkish conquerors and Italian Renaissance designers. There are some of the most beautiful landscapes in the Hungarian countryside, in fact, wherever you are in Hungary, you are never far from spectacular mountains and lakes, beautiful river scenes such as the Donava (Danube) and lush valleys that provide excellent opportunities for hiking and other outdoor activities. Of course, we can't forget famous Hungarian cuisine - goulash, paprikaš, sataraš, doboš cake, fruit brandy known as Palinka, and famous wines from all over the country, and I need to mention their gypsy music, traditional Hungarian dances, colourful costumes and handicrafts.

So, once we were there, I was amazed. This place was great, with pool, jacuzzi, and sauna and because it was the end of the season, we were the only guests. That means it didn't matter how loud we were because no one was there :)

We don't see each other often because everyone lives at their end, but when we come together, debates develop that can last all night. I will always be grateful for such friends in a group where you can relax and show your personality because they have known you for a very long time and they know what kind of person you are. And those moments remain.

The first day was relaxing, we were talking, debating, laughing, a little bit of an oriental dancing - that's why came the laughter 😎 and most important, grilling. 😀
The next day we decided we are going to see Balaton.
Hungary is a big country and I think everybody already heard about Budapest, but have you ever heard of Lake Balaton?
This is the largest lake in Central Europe, about 78 km long and 14 km wide. They say, this is a lake with no end in sight. The north coast is less populated, but the south coast is very popular with locals and tourists as it provides various recreational activities, from sailing, swimming, fishing, cycling, walking, and horseback riding.
In the summer the water rises up to 26 degrees Celsius in the south coast, and with its tourist spots, it reminds of a seaside resort.
Vineyards, historic sites and monuments, and green lands show, that Hungary is much more than just Budapest, Lake Balaton, and wellness centers. This beautiful country needs to wait now for tourists to finally discover it.

Lake was just too cold to swim in it, but we had a pool outside our apartment, and I don't know why, but we were brave enough to go swimming...We were betting who is crazy enough to jump in it. So, me and two friends decided to jump. Yes. Outside was 15 degrees Celsius and wind. But it was sunny, so we jumped, and then we run back in jacuzzi ;) We did it yes. I don't know why...but it was awesome ;))

This weekend was just great, full of laughs, unforgettable conversations, we created new memories and that stays with you. Not only that we discovered new destinations, but we created connections that bring us even closer.
It doesn't matter where you go, it's important to be with your friends, and with them, your trip can be unforgettable.

We took some photos and I hope you will like them :) (all photos were taken with Phantom 4pro and Samsung 8+ )
