We also did a similar tour than yours and loved Croatia. I agree with what you are saying. We stayed in self catering units and cooked many of ours meals (pasta and sauce). The 2 things I miss from your article is Plitvace Lakes and Dubrovnic. Definately the highlights of our trip.
yes we also missed those two locations. We wanted to go to Plitvice but it was so very expensive that we decided to skip it, and Dubrovnik was too far south for this trip. But there will be a second part to this post where we describe the places we went next
