Firewood for the Winter
Today was a lazy day around my friend's place down here in Santa Barbara. We first started out having coffee downtown and then taking a nice walk along the beach. It's getting a bit colder so we only walked a short distance. Inspired from last night, we decided we were going to drive a distance and cut some firewood. My buddy has a chain saw, so we decided to do just that.
This is what it's all about, prepping for the winter. Cut the wood now and relax later is the motto. It takes a bunch of energy to do this but it's worth it. It's the sacrifice you must make to stay warm in the winter when it's cold outside. Growing up I used to cut firewood with my father, it wasn't always fun but a memory was created by doing this type of work. I've bought firewood before but nothing like cutting it down yourself.
Saw wood for sale the other day, $350.00 a cord.
I'm sure glad we stocked up for the winter, it's been cold lately.
Thankful.
Keep it stocked up, that's the only way to go.
Neighbor built a fire yesterday, smelled like winter time.
Love the smell of the smoke the fireplace puts out.
Love the smell of firewood burning in the winter time.
Running out of firewood.
Chop it down.
