Tawau 斗湖

Tawau is a small city or a big town at the south east coast of Sabah. It is exposed to the Sulu Sea and boarder to the Indonesian Kalimantan. Hence, its demographic includes those people originally from the Philippines and Indonisia. It is a agricultural town with people making their living through plantation. Without any university, it is like many other towns, many of the younger generation move to bigger cities for job prospects and higher education.

As the younger generation are leaving and there is no higher learning institutions, Tawau does not experience the rapid change as other metropolitan cities. Those who stay here can comfortably enjoy the slower pace of life. However, it is not conducive for those who desire to have greater exposure of the cutting-edge society.

Should any people desire to grow though living in Tawau, they should initiate their activities such as reading relevant books and networking with people of specialised fields through the internet or social media. If they could afford, they can also learn through study trips from time to time.

斗湖是沙巴东南沿海的一个小城市或大市镇，它比鄰苏禄海和印度尼西亚加里曼丹；因此其人口的组合包括了最初来自菲律宾和印度尼西亚的人。这是一个农业市镇，不少人的生计与种植业有关，它没有任何大学。就像许多其他城镇一样，很多年轻一代会轉移到大城市寻找就业机会或高等教育。

随着年轻一代的离开，这里也缺乏高等学府，同时斗湖也没有像其他大城市那样经历快速变化；所以住在这里的人可以舒适地享受较慢节奏的生活。但是，对于那些希望更多地接触前沿社会的人来说，这不是他们的理想城市。
